Thankful

Shout for JOY to the Lord, all the Earth
Worship the Lord with gladness, come before Him with JOYful songs.
Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His...
We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever;
\
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100

Thanksgiving is a time of reflection for me- God is so very good...He has blessed me with so much beyond what I deserve. Just some things I want to treasure during this Thanksgiving season...
FREEDOM... Blaine's Veteran's Day Program...what a blessing to live in a country that has so much opportunity- thankful to Veteran's like my brother, Dad, and Grandfathers who were willing to defend my freedom!
Education- knowing my children have opportunity for a great education and fabulous teachers!
Family- getting to spend time with my Grandmother over Thanksgiving...
My babies...so humbled that God sent me each one of these children!

More memories from Thanksgiving...

Savannah

I take so much for granted...three weeks before I was supposed to run the 1/2 marathon in Savannah my knee began to bother me on long runs. I had been training so hard- running about a marathon total each week...then my knee happened. Talk about frustrated. I went through so many emotions. When the doctor told me he thought I had a torn meniscus, I was devastated! THEN- I overheard someone at lunch talking about his daughter in a wheelchair after a wreck not knowing if she would walk again...THEN I had a friend lose her 15 year handicapped son. THEN I began to think about my life and realize how blessed I am- SPOILED, really! It made me put many things in perspective. The Wednesday before it was time for me to go, I found out that my meniscus was not torn and nothing should stop me from running.
Mark and I headed to Savannah...

Me with the Chick Fil- A Cow on our way-
We went to the Expo first to pick up my number and walk around.
Dan and his Mom (not sure of her name) from biggest loser were at the expo. I also saw Dan during the race- think he was mentoring someone.
Savannah is a beautiful city- loved walking along the river.
We ate dinner at The Pink House with Jon and Shannon that night...then headed back to the hotel to try and sleep!
Early morning start! (Had to be up at 3:15 our time!) It was cold too!
I finished in 2:29- under my goal time of 2:30 by one minute. I had actually wanted to do 2:15, but modified it when my knee began to bother me!
Mark was SO SUPPORTIVE of me doing this- love you Mark!

That afternoon after a WONDERFUL shower and nap... we went back downtown and walked around. I had began reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and wanted to see some of the places from the book. Savannah has lots of quirky characters in the book and the history is fascinating.
This Inn was probably my favorite building in downtown- loved the architecture and how it was decorated.
Supposedly, a red door means the house is paid for...hmmmm...

That night we went on a Hanuted Trolley ride- it was fun! We even got to go underground in a tunnel and learn about how Savannah handled the "yellow fever" outbreak...(Not too well in my opinion). The city has many underground tunnels and many many ghosts...
Creepy, in my opinion...

We also walked around the river walk and watched the AL/LSU game at the Pirate's house- great atmosphere, but horrible game:(

It was an amazing trip- and the emotions I had when I saw this was probably the highlight of the trip!

Oh and so proud of Blaine...he got his Accelerated Reading shirt for being in the 50 point club.
My life is blessed!
